Mark HuYoung
Mark HuYoung is the Managing Partner of our Washington corresponding office.
Mark spearheads Private Equity engagements in Business Services, Industrials, and Technology for the Washington office. His twofold mission is, first, to fill integral senior leadership roles (primarily CEO, CFO, and board director) for publicly-traded and private investments around the world, and second, to provide leadership advisory and management counsel to sponsors and boards addressing mission-critical human capital issues to include buy-side intelligence, leadership capabilities diligence, and post-acquisition organizational integration. As an earnest student of human nature, internal politics, and organizational culture, Mark has aided clients in successfully navigating and completing over 500 searches across all tiers of the executive spectrum: board members, C-Suite, Presidents, and Vice Presidents. He is frequently engaged to evaluate, court, and recruit executives across critical executive and leadership functions including operations, corporate & business development, sales/marketing, strategy, finance/accounting, human resources, engineering/technology, and legal.
Prior to establishing the Washington office, Mark was a founding member of a top ranked healthcare and life sciences search firm. There, he also led the CFO and enterprise HR practices. He also helped establish the global technology and industrial practices for the Southeastern office of a global search firm where his clients included twelve Fortune 50 companies. Prior to his career in search, Mark held management roles in corporate strategy and development with a publicly traded communications and media company, where he became the youngest director in the 50-year history of the company’s operations.
Mark serves on the board of Central Asia Sharing Aid, a nonprofit organization committed to caring for and educating orphans and needy and disabled children in Central Asia. He is a member of ACG, AFCEA, AUSA, NDIA, and PSC and actively participates in many trade associations and community organizations. Mark has published articles related to leadership and business issues and was named one of the Top 10 GovCon Executive Recruiters by Executive Biz, as well as an Executive to Know by WashingtonExec. He has been quoted and has been the subject of articles in other industry publications. In the past, Mark’s name was named to the ranks of Business Tennessee’s list of Most Influential Business Leaders. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from Wheaton College and has completed advanced course work in corporate finance and valuation.
