Ignacio Macaya

Ignacio Macaya is our international partner for Spain. He has been managing his own executive search firm ( in Spain ) since 2002.

Ignacio has 25 years of professional experience working in executive search and has successfully completed more than 400 searches for domestic and international clients operating in different industries (banking, insurance, real estate, consumer goods, retail, pharmaceuticals, industry and non for profit).

Ignacio worked for eleven years (1990 – 2001) for Russell Reynolds Associates Inc, one of the “ big five” global executive search firms, conducting assignments in the Madrid and Barcelona offices. He was a member of the Financial Services and Healthcare practices.

Prior to search, Ignacio worked in the banking sector. He started his career at The Chase Manhattan Bank, attending the Credit Analysis Training Program in London and working afterwards as an Account Officer in the Madrid and Barcelona branches. He also worked for Banco Santander de Negocios, an investment bank owned by Banco Santander. From 1988 to 1990, Ignacio was the Head of Corporate Finance at Banca Catalana Merchant, the investment banking division of Banca Catalana, a bank owned by BBV group ( today BBVA ), advising medium-sized companies in IPOs, bond issues and other corporate finance transactions.

Ignacio has lived in New York, London, Madrid and Barcelona. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and an MBA from Esade Business School and completed the International Management Program at Leonard N. Stern School of Business of New York University.
