Standalone qualification course (10 days challenge/1000NM)
Start and arrival in Lorient, sails across the Iroise Sea, the Celtic and Irish seas, and ends with the crossing of the Bay of Biscay.
10 days alone. No one to speak to over the VHF radio which emits only a few kilometres around the boat. No one to compare boat speeds with. The qualification course is reputed in the “mini” class as one of the hardest part of the qualification process. Its course takes boats and skippers to the Irish Sea, where they usually encounter rough seas and bad weather. Jean’s qualification course went well, with only a couple of days of rough weather and very few damage sustained on the boat.
He is now all set for the Mini Transat registration in December!
